Derek Sexton started working in the natural gas industry in 2001. Derek was employed as a warehouse manager for a contractor doing work for So Cal Gas in the Inland Empire. As a result of his success in the operations support division he was given an opportunity to transfer to the field as a laborer. Then promoted to a driver then fitter and eventually a plastic foreman.

Derek has held most field operation positions with a track record of success. Working his way through the ranks and being promoted to welder, welding foreman and operator. Derek has also worked on the safety side, holding both internal auditor and trainer positions. Due to his continued success Derek was given the job as supervisor over all gas operations on a blanket contract for SDG&E in 2014.

While working for a different contractor Derek was made Area Manager overseeing all operations for So Cal Gas work in the Inland Empire.

Derek joined Arizona Pipeline Co in 2020 and began overseeing and supporting the Pacific Division of APC doing blanket gas work for So Cal Gas. Since APC was awarded a portion of a long term blanket contract with So Cal Gas Derek Sexton has been promoted to Division Manager over the Inland and Pacific Divisions. His responsibilities cover the daily activities of all construction crews, safety, paperwork and supervision. This entails leading approximately 150 employees and office support team.
